Josh made this little documentary about his love of all things Whovian. Some of the Cascade team also appear, showing off, amongst other things, their geek credentials and their ‘interesting’ singing voices.
All the filming and editing was done by Josh as part of his work placement
A short film about golf, made by Connor as part of his work experience with Cascade. This documentary was Connor’s first go at making a short film, and as well as filming, interviewing and editing it, he did the animation.
My name is Ellie Wright and I am currently doing work experience with Cascade.
Cascade are currently working on a new project called Mind Games. The aim of the project is to work with young people to create an interactive game that will be posted on the internet, based around the theme of mental health. It is set to engage people and open their awareness of mental health issues with a story-based game including interactive elements such as problem solving and puzzles. Hopefully the project will influence the widest range of audience possible, causing further recognition of mental health issues. This concept is a unique way to gain optimum understanding and would also involve young people, giving them the opportunity to learn valuable computing skills. This would also challenge the young people involved to engage with concepts they may not yet have encountered before.
This gamewill to be highly visual and eye catching which would appeal to audiences and be more successful. Similar to real life situations the choices made within the game can provoke different outcomes. Throughout the Mind Games project the young people involved will gain confidence, life long skills, be able to promote positive thoughts about mental health problems and to be a voice to others. The young people involved will tackle stereotypes surrounding mental health, helping to promote understanding of the issues.
