About the Artists

Cascade artists have a wide range of skills and experience, which are outlined in these brief biographies.

Claire Taylor

Claire Taylor has a background in community media production including community radio (streaming media and FM broadcasting); moving image production and music technology. She has worked extensively with young people and adults to facilitate creative projects including music events, combined arts projects, multicultural projects and community radio projects. She has also used her creative skills in a community development role.

Dan Van Heeswyk

With 10 years experience in video production and community work, Dan has a strong background in delivering workshops, documenting events and all aspects of digital media. He has previously worked with organizations including Hull Children’s Fund, Hull Youth Council and Hull Time Based Arts, making promotional videos, training sessions and technical support.

He is also a script writer, editor and cameraman, producing his own short films, and working with others to encourage high quality film making. He doesn’t have a cat, but four of them live in his garden.

Norman Richards

Norman has a background in web design, digital imaging and community arts education. She is a keen photographer and Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop CS, and has delivered OCN accredited digital photography courses for the Women Arts and Media Project.

Norman also plays bass guitar, tin whistle and fiddle, performing with folk ensemble Flux=Rad (new window).
