Interactive Pub Map Now Online

The interactive map of the lost pubs of Hull’s Old Town, which was featured in the Last Orders Please exhibition, is now online. You can see it at www.cascadearts.org.uk/pubmap (opens in a new window).

Taster Sessions

We’ll  be running a series of taster sessions at  starting on 27th September. Its an opportunity to have a go at the different skills needed during the project and see how you would like to be involved.

All sessions are free and will be at Hull History Centre, Worship Street, Hull HU2 8BG from 5pm – 7pm. To book a place on any of the sessions call 01482 213447 or email info [at] cascadearts.org.uk

Oral History 27th September
Have a go with audio recording equipment, recording memories, and learn more about Oral History.

Digital Image Restoration 6th October
Have a go at removing dust and scratches using tools and filters in Adobe Photoshop Elements. Find out how to scan and restore damage photographs.

Video Camera Skills 11th October
Find out how to film professional looking interviews, how the camera works and how to get the best from your interview subjects.

Video Editing 18th October
An introduction to professional video editing software. Find out how to use what you have filmed to tell a story.

Audio Editing 25th October
Have a go at recording and editing interviews using Cubase audio editing software, and practice your interview skills.

Archive Skills 1st November
In this taster, you can find out more about searching the History Centre archives and the different materials kept at the centre.
