About Cascade

Cascade is an artist's group established to provide participatory arts workshops, projects, events and exhibitions. It is the aim of the group to promote inclusion through engaging local communities in creative activities.

Cascade artists have a strong track record in designing and delivering participatory activities, we are also able to offer high quality design and production services for web sites, video and music.

The Forgotten Estate

This podcast was created with people from Greatfield Estate in Hull. Residents describe it as “The Forgotten Estate” because many of it’s close neighbours have had major development work in recent years. In the podcast, local people explain why the estate should have it’s own community radio station.

Last Orders, Please Exhibition

Our Pub, Our StoryIt’s the culmination of our Last Orders, Please project, exploring the heritage of Hull’s public houses. The exhibition, at Hull History Centre, will feature the film, audio, archive materials, an interactive map of the Old Town pubs and Hull Brewery memorabilia.

KISS short film casting

Casting call for National Film and Television School Short Film

KISS is a short film that will be made as part of the Masters degree course at the National Film and Television School in London (the leading film school in the UK ). The short will be shot on location in Hull during Hull Fair. The shoot will take place from the 10 -14 October.

New Film Competition for Young People age 16-25

To celebrate Ken Loach’s 75th birthday a new film competition has been launched by the BFI, First Light, Film Club and Film Education.

The 10 best entries will be invited to a celebratory event at the BFI Southbank in November where the winning filmmakers will be announced.

Two runners up will receive 6 months subscription to Love Film.

The winning filmmaker will receive:
• The opportunity to be part of a special academy programme at the BFI Future Film Festival February 2012;
• Mentoring and career advice from a film industry professional;
• Their film published online by the BFI and First Light.
